Preez
Terms of Service
The rules for using Preez, for businesses and for their employees.
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and ILA Platforms, which operates Preez. By creating an account or using the Preez app or service, you agree to them. If you use Preez on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it. If you do not agree, do not use Preez.
2. What Preez is
Preez is an attendance service for businesses with employees at one or more locations. Employees check in and out in the app, using workplace location and, where the business requires it, a live selfie. Owners and managers see attendance, review exceptions, handle leave and corrections, and produce reports and exports.
Preez is not a payroll, HR or accounting system. It does not calculate or pay wages.
3. Organization accounts
A business using Preez (an “organization”) is responsible for:
- the accuracy of its branches, workplace locations and attendance areas, shifts, holidays and attendance rules;
- adding only people it is entitled to add, and removing them when they leave;
- telling its employees that it uses Preez, what attendance data is collected and why, and having a lawful basis to collect it under the laws that apply to it;
- choosing which of its people get owner, admin or manager access, and what they do with it;
- how it uses attendance records — including for wages, discipline or any other decision about an employee.
4. Employee accounts
If your employer added you to Preez, your attendance records belong to your employer's records as well as being about you. Your employer decides which attendance rules apply to you. Questions about pay, leave entitlement or workplace policy are for your employer, not for us.
5. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account. Do not mark attendance for anyone else.
6. Attendance records and their limits
Preez records what the phone and our server report at the time of a check-in or check-out. Phone location can be inaccurate, especially indoors, and networks fail. That is why Preez flags uncertain or unusual check-ins for a person to review rather than treating any single signal as final.
Preez does not guarantee that every record is correct or that attendance cannot be misrepresented. Managers and admins should review flagged records and use the correction tools before relying on a record for an important decision.
7. Responsibilities of managers and admins
- Review and correct attendance fairly and give reasons for changes — Preez keeps an audit trail of them.
- View selfies and location only for attendance purposes.
- Keep exported reports secure; once exported, they are outside Preez's protection.
8. Acceptable use
Do not:
- fake your location, submit someone else's photo, or otherwise falsify attendance;
- use Preez to track people outside attendance actions, or for any purpose the people concerned have not been told about;
- access organizations, branches or data you have not been given access to;
- interfere with, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- use Preez for anything unlawful.
9. Third-party services
Preez relies on infrastructure providers, the Android operating system, Google Play and Google Play services, and your mobile network. Their services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Preez available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If the app cannot reach our server, it keeps attendance on the phone and sends it when the connection returns; such records are not verified until our server accepts them.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Preez at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Delete Account). We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or where the law requires it. An organization can remove its employees' access at any time.
12. Intellectual property
Preez, its software, design and branding belong to ILA Platforms. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended purpose while these terms apply. Organizations own the business data they put into Preez.
13. Disclaimers
Preez is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and that attendance records will be accurate in every case.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, ILA Platforms is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or decisions an organization makes using attendance records, including wage or disciplinary decisions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes give notice in the app or to organizations before they take effect. Continuing to use Preez after that means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them, subject to any rights you have under the laws of where you live.
