Preez for retail stores
Attendance app for retail shops with more than one store
Staff attendance for retail chains: sales staff check in at their store with location and a live selfie, and the owner sees every store live. No register, no biometric machine.
Short answer: Preez lets retail staff check in on their own phone at the store they work in. It verifies they are inside the store’s area, takes a live selfie and records the server time. The owner sees who is in at every store before opening, and exports the month to Excel.
Where attendance goes wrong in retail stores
- The owner cannot be at every store at opening time, so late openings go unnoticed.
- The register sits on the counter, where anyone can sign for a colleague.
- Staff move between stores for weekends and sale days, and the home store marks them absent.
- Festival closures and weekly offs differ by store, and month-end sheets get them wrong.
How Preez handles it
| You need | Preez |
|---|---|
| Know each store opened on time | Today’s view shows present, late and absent per store as staff check in. |
| Stop signing for each other | Each check-in needs the employee’s own phone at the store and a live selfie. |
| Staff covering another store | Add a temporary assignment to that store, with start and end dates. |
| Store-specific holidays | Holidays can be set for one store or for the whole business. |
| Month end | Present, late, half-day, absent and leave per person, exported to Excel or CSV. |
Setting up Preez for retail stores
- Stores inside malls: GPS indoors is weaker, so use an attendance area of 100–150 m rather than 50 m.
- Set the shift to start 15–30 minutes before the shutters open, so “late” means late for opening.
- Give each store manager access to their own store only.

Questions
Does it work for shops inside a mall?
Yes. Indoor GPS is less precise, so give mall stores a larger attendance area. Readings that are uncertain go to review rather than being rejected.
Can part-time or weekend staff use it?
Yes. Add them with their phone number and assign the shifts and stores they work.
Do I need a device at the counter?
No. Staff use their own Android phones, so there is nothing to install at the store.
